Ford's lineup is primarily comprised of SUVs, many of which have been introduced or significantly improved in the past few years. This approach continues in 2026, with updated packages, features, and details being introduced across all Ford SUV models.
However, one of the brand's longest-running crossovers is being retired in 2026, leaving the Blue Oval unrivaled in a fast-growing segment. Still, drivers interested in past Ford SUVs can find many excellent used Ford cars for sale on the US secondary market, reflecting how these models evolved over the years. And if you want to learn more about the 2026 Ford SUV lineup, here is a detailed overview.
2026 Ford Escape
This generation of the Ford Escape was introduced in 2020 and received a major refresh in 2023, but Ford is discontinuing its base SUV model in 2026. The Escape faced strong competition in the compact SUV segment and had already been banned from sale in several states due to environmental regulations, so the Escape's cancellation may not have come as a surprise, but it is noteworthy that Ford has decided to completely exit the popular vehicle segment. It's unclear when or if the new Ford Escape will return.
2026 Ford Bronco
To mark six decades since the launch of the original Bronco, Ford is introducing the Bronco 60th Anniversary Package for 2026. It is based on the Outer Banks trim level with a standard turbocharged I-4 engine and the Sasquatch off-road package.
Available in Ruby Red or Wimbledon White, the Bronco 60th Anniversary also features a Wimbledon White hardtop and spare tire carrier. Both feature a Warm Silver grille. Exclusive exterior details include 17-inch wheels with red center caps adorned with an image of a galloping Bronco. Red accents are also visible on the Bronco emblem and fender badge, complemented by contrasting decals on the side panels. Full-length running boards have also been added.
Inside, the Bronco 60th Anniversary receives white leather on the seat centers and upper door sills, as well as white contrast stitching running along the leather-trimmed instrument panel. To match the exterior, red accents are applied to the dashboard panel and center console knobs.
The Bronco 60th Anniversary also features A-pillar grab handles, an optional extra for every 2026 Bronco model.
2026 Ford Bronco Sport
For 2026, the major change to the Bronco Sport is the new Bronze package, which lives up to its name by adding a copper hue to accents around the small Ford SUV.
Expect Sinister Bronze elements, a color already seen on the Mustang coupe and Mustang Mach-E SUV. On the 2026 Ford Bronco Sport, this color appears on 17-inch wheels and carries over to the front and rear "Bronco" lettering, which has a black backing to make the bronze accents stand out more.
This theme continues in the cabin, where the trim on the doors, air vents, center console, and around the infotainment system is bronze-colored. Contrast stitching in bronze is also applied to both rows of Bronco Sport seats.
2026 Ford Explorer
Ford's rugged Explorer gets more off-road-ready in 2026 with the introduction of the Tremor variant. Like other Ford models with this designation, the Explorer Tremor receives equipment that enhances its off-road capabilities. A modified suspension increases ground clearance by approximately 2.5 cm. The 18-inch wheels are wrapped in all-season tires. Three steel skid plates protect the underbody. A limited-slip differential is added to the rear axle.
Naturally, the Explorer Tremor also looks the part. Various parts are finished in signature Orange Spice metallic paint, with similar bright accents inside the cabin. As a functional upgrade, the front and rear bumpers have been slightly reshaped to increase ground clearance.
Replacing the Explorer Timberline, the 2026 Ford Explorer Tremor is available with a turbocharged 2.3-liter I-4 engine or a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine.
2026 Ford Expedition
Since the model was redesigned in 2025, the Ford Expedition remains largely unchanged for 2026. Wild Green paint has been discontinued, and a new Marsh Gray color has been introduced. A black roof becomes an option on the King Ranch and Platinum trims. Standard features have been simplified on base trims, with four-way headrests, a tilt-and-telescoping steering column, and a wireless charging pad becoming optional.
2026 Ford Mustang Mach-E
Ford's electric crossover has received a number of notable changes for 2026. Small handles have been added to the rear doors for easier entry. Molten Magenta and Grabber Yellow paint options have been discontinued, while Race Red, Adriatic Blue, and Oxford White have been added. The Bronze Appearance and GT Appearance packages have been discontinued. On the Rally model, exterior decals and a large rear spoiler become optional.
The underhood storage compartment is no longer included in the standard trim; it becomes an option, and an empty panel is installed. Inside, the front seatback pockets have been removed. A Technology Package is available for Select and Premium trims, adding BlueCruise, a 360-degree camera, a power liftgate, a wireless charging pad, and more.
The GT Performance Edition has been renamed the GT Performance and Handling Package and continues to increase power and add MagneRide suspension dampers. Additionally, the Ford Mustang Mach-E California Special, inspired by the classic 1968 Ford Mustang GT/CS, is available for 2026. It receives distinctive blue decals and accents, an illuminated grille badge with blue fill, and exclusive 20-inch wheels, among other details.
